Photography can only represent the present. Once photographed, the subject becomes part of past and memory. Photography for me is not looking, it’s a feeling and is an art of observation. It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. We need less imagination to be a painter because we can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary.
